Do you mean the egg spot/ovipositor when you say 'the white is visible on both fish'? I find that is a poor determinant of gender in this complex as even my males will show quite a prominent 'egg spot'.

I find one of the better ways of sexing these fish apart from colour (my males and female persephone look very different colourwise but I have seen some fish where the colour is almost identical), is by the ventrals. Comments are closed.
