There's about 25-30 F1 Betta sp. api api of various sizes/ages in there. Tank is about 10 gallons and heavily planted. These are the offspring from my three wild-caught pairs and have been living together since they were fairly young. Most aggression is display and chasing rather than actual fighting. Worst that happens is a few nipped fins.

I left some fries with the parent, but their growth are slow and some are stunted because of not be able to compete to get enough food. the ones i separated out are much bigger in size. how do you over come that?

I always end up with some runts. I don't think there's any way to get around that unless you separate the slow growers out into their own tank.

Hi, my api api just spawned and have about 5eggs. How long they take to hatch and free swimming?

Congrats on the spawn. I believe it takes around 2 days for eggs to hatch, and then the fry tend to be free-swimming in another 2-3 days after that. Comments are closed.
